Nassau, Bahamas – The Bahamas Esports Federation (BESF) proudly announces a significant advancement for our esports community. Following discussions with Overwatch Esports Product Lead, Bailey McCann, it has been confirmed that The Bahamas will be eligible to participate in the 2024 Overwatch Championship Series (OWCS).

This inclusion is a monumental step for the esports landscape in The Bahamas, providing an open platform for Bahamian teams to engage in international competition. While the initial announcement from Overwatch Esports highlighted eligible countries for the NA region, The Bahamas was not mentioned among the NA nor LATAM countries listed. However, we are now assured that Bahamian players have the opportunity to partake in this prestigious series.

The BESF has been at the forefront of advocating for broader participation opportunities for our players, and this development aligns with our vision of making esports accessible to all Bahamians. We believe this will invigorate the local gaming scene, inspiring gamers across the country to pursue excellence in the esports arena.

We extend our heartfelt appreciation to Bailey McCann and the Overwatch Esports team for their support in facilitating this inclusion. The BESF is excited about the prospects this opens for our community and is dedicated to supporting Bahamian players in their esports endeavours.
