As the national federation for esports, one of our main goals has been to expand Bahamian esports to a global stage. On that stage, we can come together as a country and pit our skills against other countries. To this end, we’ve been working to connect with other countries through the various international bodies of which we are members. One of the first connections to bear fruit came from our friends in Colombia, who were interested in playing Call of Duty: Modern Warfare.
The Qualifiers
Of course, no competition is possible without a team, so our first order of business was to find skilled and dedicated players to represent our gaming population. To find the best, we held online national qualifiers as a testing ground. Despite some technical difficulties and delays outside of human control, we still garnered support and interest from across the country.
The Pick
From these qualifiers, we were able to pick the best and brightest players, enough for a competitive team and a training team. It was decided that our main representatives would be 5 Kings, due to both superior mechanical skill and team synergy.
5 Kings is comprised of:
- DrNoL
- Chronos
- OrigenZ
- Tubtubfluff
- M3RCY
Our support team is headed by The Dawk and will serve as dedicated training partners, and will receive the opportunity to substitute in for the main team or even receive a permanent spot on the main team eventually.
What’s next
As we look to the future, our next step is to face Colombia. Our players have been and will continue to train hard in preparation for our debut international MW match, taking place on Sunday, March 1st, at 2 PM EST. Please be sure to tune in to our broadcast (
