The Bahamas Esports Federation (BESF) is thrilled to announce two monumental achievements that significantly elevate the position of The Bahamas within the international esports arena. In a series of fruitful negotiations with the ESL FACEIT Group, the tournament managers for Call of Duty’s Challengers, and discussions with Activision-Blizzard’s Overwatch Esports Product Lead, Bailey McCann, The Bahamas has secured eligibility for participation in the prestigious Overwatch Championship Series (OWCS) and Call of Duty’s Challengers for the North America region, as of March 6th, 2024.

This dual inclusion is a historic milestone for the Bahamian esports community, allowing our talented gamers and teams the opportunity to compete in these renowned international esports series. The BESF’s diligent efforts and discussions have opened the doors for The Bahamas, showcasing our nation’s gaming talent and passion on the global stage.

The acknowledgement of The Bahamas as an eligible country for the NA region in both the OWCS and Call of Duty’s Challengers marks a significant advancement in our mission to provide equal competitive opportunities for our players. It reflects the growing recognition of our nation’s potential in the esports world and aligns with our vision of fostering a thriving esports ecosystem in The Bahamas.

We sincerely thank the ESL FACEIT Group and Activision-Blizzard for their collaboration and support in realizing these opportunities. The BESF is committed to nurturing our relationship with these international esports bodies and ensuring that Bahamian players have the resources and support needed to excel in these competitions.

We encourage all interested Bahamian gamers and teams to engage with these exciting new opportunities. The BESF will offer its full support, providing guidance and updates on how to participate in the upcoming OWCS and Call of Duty’s Challengers events.
